Blog 9: Preparing for my acoustic gigs in London, writing new songs!

Am gearing up for the gigs that are coming up this month! Have been around London visiting venues, talking with the owners, and trying to fill up the calendar with exciting gigs. For now I have the Troubadour on the 18th, Café Nero on the 25th, possibly the 12 Bar on the 11th and the Hoxton Pony at the end of the month.

I’ve also been working with a new guitarist, Tim, who will be accompanying me on acoustic guitar for this next phase of gigs. Funny, but working with him has made me realise that a lot of my songs actually sound pretty good in this acoustic guise and I’m thinking of recording an ‘unplugged’ version of my album (would be great to hear what you guys think of this idea!). Either just guitars and vocals or maybe guitars and strings (that would be fab I think!).

Aside from working on the gigs, my creative juices have been functioning full speed these last few weeks and I have written 2 more songs (just polishing them off!) so you may be hearing some new demos soon. If you have any topics you would like me to write a song about please let me know. If you have any personal stories you would like to hear in one of my songs just send it to me on Odette@marblesrecords.com (or post it on my wall if you are not shy!). I write a lot of my songs based on empathy with experiences of other people (friends, or anyone that somehow has a story that connects with me) so if your story resounds with my emotions then I may very well write about you in my next song!

Lots of Love from me xxx
